Westhampton Conservation Commission approves septic improvements at Pine Island Lake property.

Westhampton Conservation Commission unanimously approved site plans for septic system replacement and property improvements at 70 Pine Island Lake Road. The project includes a smaller septic tank with bottomless sand filter located 25 feet from the lake, removal of invasive species, planting of native vegetation, and installation of erosion controls. The Commission will issue an Order of Conditions following Board of Health approval.

The Commission also signed two amended Project Agreements and assigned Jess Applin of the Hilltown Land Trust to survey Duck Island regarding mowing and native species preservation.
