Westhampton Finance Committee approves $125,000 override and free cash transfer to balance budget. Chair Tad Weiss and the seven-member committee recommended the override after the Westhampton Elementary School Committee voted to reduce the town's burden by $57,000, composed of a $45,000 anticipated cut plus a $12,000 additional request, bringing the school's total budget to $2,136,873. The committee also voted to cut $10,000 from highway materials and eliminate the $10,592 highway clerk position.
Budget category votes passed, with most unanimous and four recording one abstention; final warrant article votes are scheduled for May 4.
